JOB TITLE
Detailer
REPORTS TO
Detailing Manager
The purpose of this position is to prepare detailed plans, shop drawings, and other documents for the fabrication and erection of steel buildings.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:
- Understanding of steel detailing
- Work with team members to meet detailing timeline
- Make decisions based on the best interest of BAPKO
- Knowledge of AISC standards and AWS codes
- Reading and interpreting architectural, structural, other design drawings and specifications
- Review RFI’s, bulletins, etc. that impact changes in scope
- Provide sketches, plans, proposed designs, and layouts as needed.
- Safe working habits
- Other duties and tasks may be assigned
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma/GED, or higher, and knowledge of basic principles of drafting
- Previous experience as a Detailer in the steel industry
- Detailing Certifications
- Knowledge in Auto-Cad 2D/3D, preferably Revit Structure and TEKLA
- Strong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems
- Background in misc. metals, stair, structural & architectural detailing is beneficial

PAY RANGE
$18.00 – $45.00 p/hour
