Estimating with accuracy.

The success of your project starts before construction. BAPKO’s seasoned estimators leverage decades of experience to accurately estimate and budget your steel or architectural metal project. By basing our estimates on reality and anticipating any potential issues that might impact your budget, we’re able to offer up innovative solutions to control costs without cutting corners on quality or craftsmanship.

Design assistance with attention to detail.

An industry leader in Design Assist/Design Build, we take a highly collaborative approach with General Contractors, architects, and engineers to engage as early in the design process as possible. This allows us to identify and address any potential issues before they impact the work in the field or possibly the project schedule. When issues come to light during the Design Assist phase, we’ll leverage our experience to provide innovative solutions that save our clients money and time while adhering to the original project vision.

BIM — planning for every detail in 3D.

As part of our preconstruction services, our engineering department uses the latest Tekla Structures technology to provide a 3D BIM environment. Through our BIM models, we’re able to submit drawings, run material reports, plan installation, as well as track RFIs, fabrication, and installation status. We additionally share our models to facilitate BIM coordination with other trades.

Modeling our projects in 3D allows us to verify constructability, prepare for any potential issues, coordinate more effectively, and make sure that we have the right equipment and material in place before we begin fabrication. This in turn allows us to reduce design and project scope changes, maintaining the schedule as well as the budget.

In addition to BIM models, we also use Lidar 3D laser scanner at jobsites. Laser scanning enables us to insert “point clouds” into our 3D detailing software so we can model directly on top of existing field conditions — saving time, miscommunication and accuracy as compared to traditional field measuring.

Our methodical approach to project management allows us to take on even the most complex projects with demanding timeliness and unique designs. With dedicated project managers assigned to each project, we ensure that all phases of fabrication and installation are completed according to plan — hitting our milestones and sticking to the budget.

With ongoing communications and transparency, we keep our clients regularly updated on the status of our work for added confidence. We also monitor and track all materials throughout the lifecycle of the project so our clients know at all times where the product is. Every aspect of our project planning is managed with the end result in mind, and the project’s ultimate success front and center.

Production with the goal of perfection.

With over 33,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art space strategically located in Southern California, our steel and architectural fabrication facilities have the capacity to produce finished pieces with superior quality, backed by dedicated service. Our experience artisans use the latest equipment to produce the highest quality products worthy of our clients’ projects. We carefully select just the right type and grade of steel and metal for each project, work efficiently and accurately while striving for flawless production. We carefully inspect each piece to make sure it meets our clients’ standards, before shipping the end product to the site.

Efficient, coordinated installation.

During the installation process, we ensure ongoing communication to coordinate between the General Contractor, our facilities, our field team, and other trades on the job to ensure maximum efficiency. By carefully sequencing fabrication and installation of the project, we’re able to avoid conflict with other trades and accelerate the timeline. Safety is integrated into our installation plan, as well, with dedicated safety professionals onsite to make sure our team is adhering to best practices.
