Job Description
JOB TITLE
Senior Accountant
The Senior Accountant will assist the Controller in the company’s day to day accounting operations. The Senior Accountant also has a responsibility to ensure that accounting records and processes are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but not limited to the following:
- Assist with compiling monthly financials, including WIP report, variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliations
- Assists the Controller with the Annual Review and Tax Return with CPA, including schedule preparations
- Responsible for various State and Federal Tax reporting, including payroll and property taxes
- Responsible for Fixed Assets Schedule
- Assists Controller with various payroll functions
- Assists the Controller with various government filings and city business licenses
- Assists with Business Insurance Renewals and audits
- Some Budget and Forecast duties
- Other tasks and duties as assigned
PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Accounting preferred and/or 3 to 5 years + progressive accounting experience
- Proven experience in finance management
- Strong verbal, written, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting fundamentals and internal controls
- Ability to multitask and strong analytical skills
- Computer Savvy (full MS Office proficiency)
- Experience with Sage a plus
- Construction Experience a plus
CLASSIFICATIONS
- Full-Time (40-45 HR expectation)
- Exempt, full-time benefits
