Intuit Dome – Clippers Arena
Intuit Dome Project Summary
November 2021 – July 2024
The Intuit Dome, a state-of-the-art sports and entertainment venue located in Inglewood, California, officially opened its doors in July 2024 to welcome Bruno Mars as its first performing guest. Designed to be the new home of the LA Clippers, this world-class arena also serves as a major destination for premier musical performances, community events, and sports entertainment in the greater Los Angeles area. The facility was built with the owner, Steve Ballmer’s vision, for innovation, sustainability, and fan-first experiences—most notably featuring the HALO scoreboard, the “Wall of Sound” seating section, and cutting-edge arena technology.
As a construction project, the Intuit Dome was a massive undertaking, led by major general contractors and subcontractors in a multi-year, high-profile collaboration. The project broke ground in the summer of 2021 and progressed steadily through a variety of complex phases involving structural steel, MEP, architectural finishes, and unique, custom features that set this venue apart from traditional arenas.
BAPKO Metal was proud to be a key contributor to the Intuit Dome, contracted by Schuff Steel, AHTJV, and BNBuilders for the fabrication and erection of all steel stairs and miscellaneous metals throughout the arena. BAPKO’s scope included:
- Fabrication and installation of all 17 steel stairs within the arena
- 4.7 miles of railing, providing safe, durable, and visually integrated pathways across the facility
- Custom safety cages for catwalk ship ladders, ensuring elevated safety standards for maintenance and operations personnel
- Miscellaneous metals, such as integrated ladders and support framing within the iconic HALO scoreboard
- Architectural powdercoated mesh panel ceiling and backsplash installation at the Modelo Bar in the Plaza, contributing to the venue’s modern and elevated design aesthetic
Through quality detailing & fabrication, top-level customer service, and the best misc. metal Ironworkers in the Local 433, BAPKO Metal played a crucial role in shaping the structural and aesthetic elements of the Intuit Dome. The firm’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety helped ensure the arena opened on schedule and is ready to welcome millions of fans and concertgoers in the years to come.
The Intuit Dome not only provides a permanent, independent home for the Clippers but also establishes a lasting architectural and cultural landmark in the city of Inglewood.
